Crystal Voyager
So your really into surfing and decide to write, narrate, film and star in a movie to do with surfing in
Calafornia. This is what George Greennough did and he arranged for David Elfick to direct it. Crystal Voyager
was released in 1973.
It became very succesful film first in Australia and then in France before being popular in the UK. The last 23
minutes of the film is showing the surfer surfing on the Waves while having the waterproof camera strapped to his
back. When the film was edited it was slowed up so that Echoes would fit and fit it does. It captures the “tubes”of
the surf and mathces perfectly the atmosphere created by Echoes. Pink Floyd did a deal by requesting permission to
use Echoes for exchange of footage of Crystal Voyager to be used during there live performances of Echoes.
